NEW MADISON – Versailles dominated the game Friday against a struggling Tri-Village softball team. The Lady Tigers won with a fifth inning mercy rule victory by a score of 16-1.
According to Versailles Coach Mechelle Heitkamp, many players were able to get some playing time as the team heads into the final stretch and prepares for postseason play. The Lady Tigers are currently (15-4) overall on the season and a perfect (6-0) in the MAC.
“I am just pleased overall with the girls’ performance this season,” Heitkamp said. “Lately we have been batting really well and will definitely need that going into the tournament.”
MAC softball conference champion Versailles hosts Fort Recovery Monday as they look to end the season a perfect (7-0) in the conference. Tri-Village hosts Eaton Monday and ends the season with a CCC game at Ansonia Thursday afternoon.
