UCIPD discover narcotics during bust

UNION CITY, Ind. – Officers from the Union City, IN Police Department served a search warrant Thursday night at an apartment located at the Maple Leaf Apartment complex, and recovered heroin and cocaine. A Union City man was later arrested on the several drug related charges.

On Thursday, July 30th, shortly after 10pm, members of the UCIPD – Special Entry Tactical Team served a search warrant at 307 S. High Street, apartment #2, in Union City. The search warrant was a result of a lengthy drug investigation. Officers located four adults inside the apartment, along with a teenage juvenile and a toddler.

The current adult residents, who were inside the apartment, were identified as Jaime D. Jenkinson, (42 y/o), and her son, Jordan Dean Jenkinson, (23 y/o).

During the search of the apartment, officers located a small baggy of a white powdery substance that showed a positive field test for cocaine, along with a brown powdery substance that field tested as heroin. Officers also located a used syringe inside the apartment.

Jordan Jenkinson was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail on the following charges; two counts of possession of a narcotic drug, for the cocaine and the heroin, (level 6 felony), dealing in a counterfeit substance, (level 6 felony), and possession of a legend injection device, (level 6 felony).

“We are pleased that we are removing a drug element from not only our community, but specifically from this apartment complex,” said Chief Cobie Wells. “There are many good families who are living in this complex, who should not have to live near this type of activity.” Chief Wells continued, “our officers see many children playing on or near this property, and we will continue to see to it that they can do so safely.”
