UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City freshman class of 2022 won the annual Homecoming week powderpuff game Wednesday night.
Both underclass teams, the freshman and sophomores, met up in the title game after eliminating the junior and senior classes in the semifinals. In a hard-fought battle to the finish, the ninth-graders emerged victorious after scoring a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to win 8-6 – as time ran out on the clock. With the victory, they claimed the title, but more importantly…bragging rights for the year!
The varsity football team will host Northeastern Friday night for a Homecoming, Tri-Eastern Conference showdown at Union City High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
