GREENVILLE – Warrior Strength Workouts is happy to sponsor a Self Defense Workshop at Young Forest Martial Arts, 120 W. Third St., Greenville. This workshop will be the fourth of its kind conducted since September 2014.
This event will be held on Sept. 13, 1:30-3:30 p.m., and led by Sifu Jesse Berry of Young Forest Martial Arts. Participants should be prepared to practice skills barefoot during the session. Previous workshops have been well-received, with participants of all ages.
While the primary focus is young women ages 12-22 years, their parents/guardians, siblings of similar ages are welcome to attend as well. Main Street Greenville businesses will receive a discount on registration if two or more from their business are registering at the same time.
The workshop focus will be on how to avoid becoming a victim, what to do to escape a situation should one happen and how to confidently know what to do in these situations.
Proceeds benefit the Darke County Shelter from Violence and as in past workshops, donations of toilet paper, tissues, feminine hygiene products and paper towels will be collected at the workshop for donation to the shelter.
Workshop fees are $20 per person at the door. Early registration by August 31 is $15 per person. Main Street Greenville business employees that register 2 or more at the same time are $12.50 per person with early registration. Registration must be made through Warrior Strength Workouts at 937-417-9366. All participants require an activity waiver provided by Warrior Strength Workouts. For minors, these must be completed by parent/guardian for participation. Please note there are no refunds as all the proceeds benefit the Shelter from Violence.
