DARKE COUNTY – A woman was lucky to escape after losing control of her vehicle on an overpass Tuesday morning.
According to deputies at the scene, the woman was traveling southbound on US 127 just after 7:30 a.m. when she lost control of her Chrysler Town & Country minivan – south of the SR 47 intersection. The minivan went off the left side of the highway, while the woman struggled to regain control and get back onto the road. The vehicle ran up an overpass guardrail before finally coming to rest.
The minivan was teetering atop a steep embankment when emergency crews arrived on scene. The Ansonia Fire Department braced the vehicle to keep it from overturning and tumbling down the embankment.
The woman was not injured, but was checked at the scene by Ansonia EMS.
