Lady Wave drops soccer match to Fairborn

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave soccer team dropped a 6-0 match to the visiting Fairborn Lady Skyhawks in a Wednesday night contest at Greenville’s Harmon Field.

“I am proud to call them my team,” said Greenville Coach Samantha Grim. “I can’t say I’ve coached a better team – of course this is my first year, but I am proud of them no matter what is happening.”

The Lady Skyhawks, playing out of the GWOC American South got on the board at 39:42 in the first half to lead 1-0 at 39:42 and extended its lead to 5-0 at the break.

The Lady Wave stepped up second half play allowing a single goal at 33:02 with the winners taking home a 6-0 victory.

“Unfortunately we seem to be a second half team but that is something we can definitely turn around and come out next game and be a full game team,” said Coach Samantha Grim. “They leave everything on that field and that is one thing that I stress for this team no matter what.”

The young Lady Wave soccer team is made up of two seniors, nine juniors, seven sophomores and five freshmen.

With the loss, the Lady Wave drops to 1-5-1 on the season.
