Judge sends Hardy back to prison

GREENVILLE – Registered sex offender Jessica Hardy of Greenville pleaded guilty Tuesday to failing to report a change of address.

Hardy, 31, was sentenced to 21 months in prison by Judge Jonathan P. Hein.

Hardy was originally sentenced to a four-year prison term in 2013 for sexual battery. As a Tier III sex offender, she is required to report a change of address to the sheriff’s department.

According to court records, Hardy neglected to notify the sheriff’s department in September and October of this past fall.

Hardy was on community control sanctions after serving 27 months of the original four-year sentence at the time she neglected to report.

In exchange for pleading guilty for not reporting her address, Assistant Prosecutor Deborah Quigley said the state was amenable to dropping a second charge of neglecting to report her phone number.
