Indians beat Hawks in overtime thriller

UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City Indians boys basketball team pulled off a thrilling overtime victory against the visiting Blackhawks of Mississinawa Valley to win the stateline rivalry game Tuesday night.

As the clock expired in regulation, freshman Zerrin Cantu nailed a three-point buzzer-beater to knot the game at 38 a piece. The Indians went on the win the game in OT by a final score of 48-45.

Union City was led in scoring by senior Trevor Spence with 16…followed by Cantu with 13 and senior Mason Good, who added nine points in the win.

Both teams will open up conference play on the road this Friday – as the Indians travel to rival Winchester, while the Hawks head to Pleasant Hill to battle Newton.
