FM HS girls and Greenville JH boys take top spots

NEW PARIS – National Trail hosted the Blazer Invitational Cross Country meet in a new location at the high school this year and the event was good for many Darke County runners and teams. Several runners set personal records (PRs) and a few teams earned their highest placing of the year.

The Franklin Monroe girls, led by top finishers Nicole Brocious and Danielle McVey, posted its first victory of the season. The team also had strong performances from Cayley Baker, Taylor Hackney and Scout Meyer.

Skipp Miller, of Bradford, had a first place winning time in the junior high girls division, finishing the course in 13:05. Marcy Bradshaw, of Arcanum, took the top spot in the high school girls with a time of 20:07.

Second place finishers from Darke County included Audrey Cable, of Franklin Monroe, with a time of 13:18, in the junior high girls. Karmen Knepp, of Bradford finished second in high school girls by posting a time of 20:25. Isaac Stephens, of Arcanum, was the highest placing Darke County athlete in the high school boys division with a time of 17:16.

Finishing in the top 10 from Darke County were Marcy Bradshaw, Arcanum, 20:07, first; Karmen Knepp, Bradford, 20:25, second; Nicole Brocious, Franklin Monroe, 21:28, fourth; Chelsea Gill, Bradford, 22:10, fifth; Danielle McVey, Franklin Monroe, 22:21, sixth; Mara Wetzel, Arcanum, 22:25, seventh; and Skyler Marker, Ansonia, 22:31, eighth;

Franklin Monroe took home first place, while Ansonia finished third, and Arcanum took fourth.

Finishing in the top 10 from Darke County were Isaac Stephens, Arcanum, 17:16, second; Johnny Fike, Bradford, 17:46, fifth; and Cole Van Hook, Franklin Monroe, 17:48, sixth

Arcanum finished second, Franklin Monroe was fourth and Bradford took sixth.

Greenville Junior High Girls finished second and Arcanum-Butler finished third

Greenville Junior High Boys took first place and was followed by Franklin Monroe, second, and Arcanum Butler, third.
