DCTPA truck and tractor pull draws pullers to Greenville

GREENVILLE – The Greenville Power of the Past hosted the Darke County Truck and Tractor Pull (DCTPA) on the pulling track in front of the Grand Stand.

We had a good group of pullers tonight,” said DCTPA Hall of Famer Duane Edwards. “More than 40 hooks here tonight.

“They let us put on the tractor pull,” Edwards said of the Power of the Past. ”They are just a bunch of super nice guys which I can say that, because I am one of them.”

The local pullers organization is known far and wide for their red shirts and as is so often noted, “If you need anything – just as one of the ‘Red Shirts’.

“We have one of the best group of guys that I’ve ever seen when it comes to building a track and working,” Edwards said. “The same guys may not be at every pull but they always get there and do a great job. Everybody just does something to help.

With the Great Darke County Fair just a month away, Edwards was pleased to mention the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) will return to the local fair.

“The NTPA Grand Nationals will be here on Tuesday night of the fair,” noted Edwards. “One night this year. We’ll be here all day Tuesday. Come on out and see us – five big classes.”
