DARKE COUNTY – The Dylan Williams Forever An All-Star Foundation presented the Darke County Upward Sports organization with automated external defibrillator (AED) this past Saturday.
The life-saving device will be on-hand for all of the weekend basketball and cheerleading events in case of an emergency cardiac situation like the one that claimed the life of 8-year-old Dylan at an all-star baseball practice in July 2013.
Since the tragedy, the Williams family has donated AED devices to many area sporting venues and school facilities through foundation donations.
“I think its amazing that the Williams family has used such a terrible tragedy in their own lives to bless others,” said Darke County Upward Sports Director Barb Hicks. “This addition to our program and our facility will give so much peace of mind.”
“What a wonderful way to honor the memory of their son,” she added.
