Coldwater tops Tri-Village

NEW MADISON – The visiting Coldwater Cavaliers defeated the Tri-Village Patriots 59-43 in a Saturday night non-conference matchup.

“We were down our point guard tonight,” said Tri-Village coach Mackenzie Perry. “Our point guard wasn’t here tonight and we had to reshuffle everything in an hour.”

The teams played to a 15-15 score after one period of play with the Patriots’ Trey Frech knocking down three 3-pointers in the opening stanza.

The Cavaliers used period No. 2 to double up on Tri-Village 16-8 taking a 31-23 advantage to the halftime break.

Coldwater took the third by double digits outscoring the home team 19-9 giving the visitors a comfortable 50-32 lead heading to the final period of play.

The Patriots battled back taking the final period of play by an 11-9 score.

“The boys played hard, played well,” Perry said. “There were a few shots that went in and out.”

Jared Buckley led the Patriots with 12 points.
