ARCANUM – Arcanum was host to the weekend 8U and 10U Arcanum Slugfest girls softball tournament.
“We couldn’t be happier with the turnout,” said Arcanum Major Boys Vice President Matt Trittschuh. “It’s for the kids. We want the kids to really enjoy their experience. They don’t get to play forever and while they get a chance to do it lets make it the best we can for them.”
“Our board is terrific,” said,” added Trittschuh. “We have a really good strong board here in Arcanum and everybody pitches in. This is a lot of work to make this go off without a hitch. We’re mainly here to make sure the girls have fun and enjoy their experience.”
All the funds from the tournament, including concession stand sales are put back into the Arcanum Junior Baseball/Softball Association.
Every single penny, everything we make goes back into the program for equipment the following year,” noted Trittschuh. “We have a lot of great sponsors here that help us pay a lot of the bills. We couldn’t ask for better sponsors in Arcanum. The community is proud of this organization, the community takes pride in this and we are pleased to invite teams from other cities to share in our pride.”
